As you may have read by now, This Guest of Summer film to be directed by Graham McTavish and with a few Outlander and Hobbit Alums in for good measure, has been delayed a few more months. Rumor has it the scouting for locations and their availability have been part of the hold up, plus moving the production from the original New Zealand site to possibly Scotland/UK filming due to funding and camera crew availability.
That also bumped into Graham’s project with Sam Heughan, Clanlands. The original podcast concept has now blossomed into a filmed series, with three camera persons. The month of September saw the two friends caravaning all over Scotland, from clan to clan, to distilleries, and huffing it on a bicycle built for two. Not to mention hillwalking andThe rich landscape of the high and low lands of Scotland will be featured. The series has not found a network to debut on but they plan to have it air sometime in 2020.
The series follows The Jacobite Trail, something you can do when touring Scotland. It features all the Highland troupes movements and locations of Bonnie Prince Charlie and the lead up to the Battle of Culloden. I traveled just one quarter of this trail and it does take time to get in all of the locations. Planning a trip to Scotland? You can learn more about it here Travel the Jacobite Trail
