Outlander Last-Minute for Casting Season 5

IMG_3679

Earlier this week the last of the scenes were being shot for season 5 of Outlander. During one food break, Cesar Domboy was caught filling his face. It was the last of the retakes and clean up filming at the end of the last block. Along with this, the official rest of the season’s casting was announced.

Screen Shot 2019-11-16 at 12.38.26 PMOne of the speculations we earlier reported was confirmed. Young Paul J. Gormand had been cast a few weeks back, and now confirmed, that he is playing the Beardsley twins. The actor is a bit old for the age the twins are in the book, however the writers   may have decided to bring the age up a few years for the story arch coming in book 6, A Breath of Snow and Ashes. Special effects can make it very believable, the twins have two different personalities. It’s not an easy task to play twins Josiah and Kezzie as a single actor while filming. Bronwyn James plays Fanny Beardsley.

Chris J Donald returns as Phillip Wylie with a longer and more in-depth, annoying story arch with Claire.

We were also given the names of the Brown family actors. For those who have not read the book, The Fiery Cross, this storyline looked to be one storyline they may drop or the writers could move to next season. However, the Browns do come into play in book 6 again so keeping to the book makes some sense. The actors playing the Browns are Ned Dennehy (Peaky Blinders, Good Omens) as Lionel, Chris Larkin as Richard, with Anna Burnett as Alicia, being wooed by Isiah Morton, Jon Tarcy.

Outlander Reshoots and Final Block Season 5

download-2The cast and camera crew have been celebrating the last block of filming. At the recent Sasnak City Event, César Domboy let slip that some of the cast were heading directly back to Scotland for reshoots on scenes. Cameraman Michael Carstensen, Stedicam and Camera Operator for Outlander for several seasons congratulated the crew and cast on season 5. We must support the camera and rest of the crew as they do put up with Scotlands weather conditions, production stress, and of course actors who forget their lines. It seems all involved are chomping at the bit to get into post production. That means 4 months of Droughtlander left. How are you spending your time?

Maybe seeing Sam Heughan at Wizard Con New Orleans in January. There have been promised special guests to show up in his fireside chat. Can you guess who? Graham McTavish loves Wizard World. You will need to buy a ticket to the con and the separate tickets for Sam.

Filming for the 10/22/19 week has been at The Hermitage, with Richard Rankin taking snaps. Duncan Lacroix has been causing mischief in a hotel he’s been spotted at. Hint, there’s a totem pole.

Filming block is scheduled to end November 17, 2019
