After several Outlander conventions announced rescheduling this fall, Starz will have an Outlander presence at NYC Comic Con again this year. It’s a sign, the cons are back and in person, we may get back to the new normal yet. And that means a little relief from Droughtlander.
Mark your calendars, July 11 tickets go on sale for New York Comic Con. Keep an eye out on their site as it is updating as we post this.
Outlandish Vancouver just announced Tim Downie joining Richard Rankin as a guest for their convention in October 2021. Check our event pages for details.
The cast of Outlander Season 5 was asked a battery of questions for an hour on the Hulu Stage at Madison Square Garden on October 5, 2019. Many were from fans and a few from presenter @GingerZee. It was live broadcast on SyFy Wire at 5:30pm EST.
Cast members Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe, Duncan Lacroix, David Berry, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Maril Davis (Producer), Ron D. Moore (Showrunner/Producer), and author Diana Gabaldon arrived at the panel. Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin were absent this year and filming in Scotland for the show, however there was a question and answer video from them and a new Season 5 teaser.
What we know from the new Season 5 trailer and the three panels at Comic Con?
Claire wants Brianna, Roger, and Jemmy to go back. It is too dangerous in the 18th century, and she blames herself. They are there because of her choice to go back. There is the growing conflict with The Regulators, which is a small prelude of things to come with the larger scaled American Revolution. Roger wants to go back, and Brianna clearly states that their family is there. What she really fears is that Jem can’t go through the stones, and the safety of her parents.
In the spirit of letting the audience in on as much as they could, with the watchful and warning Maril Davis, Maria Doyle Kennedy admitted that Jocasta (er) would have “relationships”. Those of you who have read the books know where this may be going. Duncan Lacroix stated that the role of Murtagh has been ramping up each season, and in Season 5 he is doing some of his most challenging work. Sam and Caitriona talked about the dangers of the New World, the upcoming battles, and family concerns.
This week thousands of comic fans and quite a few thousand Outlander fans are heading to NYCC 2019 to see the Outlander Panel with Diana Gabaldon, Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe, Duncan Lacroix, Maria Doyle Kennedy, and David Berry. Plenty of photo ops, and we know how much the cast loves New York! Careful, Duncan may just flatten the place. And for those of you who cannot attend, keep eyes peeled for all the photos that will be posting like mad over the weekend on Twitter and Instagram.
Maril Davis and Ron D. Moore will be on Outlander Panel and For All Mankind panel.
And it’s a panel at Madison Square Garden. Check the con website for details to make sure you can get into this panel. Heads up, if you did not pre buy these tickets, third party vendor is selling at higher costs. Make sure you use the links provided at the NYCC site.
Outlander (5:30 p.m., The Hulu Theatre at Madison Square Garden) Cast members Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Duncan Lacroix, Maria Doyle Kennedy and David Berry, along with novelist Diana Gabaldon, will discuss the upcoming season of the Starz series. The latest installment of the time travel series finds the Fraser family fighting for their family and the home they’ve built for themselves on Fraser’s Ridge.
Fans have rolled in to New York Comic Con October 4 – 7th 2018. At the con a Frasers’ Ridge has been built, much like the Print Shop set at San Diego Comic Con last year. Hopefully no real snow. Early attendees are enjoying first looks at the small set representations.
